Beach Scene at Playa Tamarindo Costa Rica Beach in Guanacaste

Close by are other interesting beach communities, each with their own charm!

Small towns were made for walking, often you'll find the people even friendlier. And, for many, there is something real about a vacation destination where the residents know you by name. Visit Playa Potrero, Flamingo Beach, Playa Grande, Playa Avenallas and Negra.

Crossing an estuary and continuing on to an adventurous walk. To the North and South, they're also several other beach towns, each just a 30-minute drive away.

For those with young hearts, and bodies, you can actually walk (with a brief swim) to Playa Grande on an extremely low tide. You'll need a plastic waterproof bag or just a garbage bag for your belongings and a cocodrillo detector because there is always a little swimming involved. Or, just go to northern estuary and rent a boat at the mouth to cross to Playa Grande and spend some time exploring on foot.

Walking - There is nothing wrong with doing it!

Medical studies show it helps you lose weight, sleep better, improves over-all health, and can be a very social activity in a small town.
