tamarindo costa rica kiki ruperto

Meet Kiki (the-Parrot) Ruperto

He was raised in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, so he really knows the place. He loves to tell you interesting things about his home.

Kiki is a Yellow-nape Amazon Parrot (although his species is native to Costa Rica).

For Kiki, every day is a "party day" to dance and sing. He loves to have his picture taken and whistle at women. He's always in a good mood, except when he doesn't like something.

If you're around him long enough, you come to realize he does really know much more than you think! He can actually have a verbal conversation with you in English or Spanish. Politically, he still doesn't know whether he is a Democrat or Republican. We think eventually he'll decide he's an Independent.

Kiki has a keen sense of smell, taste, and excellent eye-sight. He can actually seen almost directly behind him - while he's looking forward! He is the perfect vacation critic, as he really doesn't care what others think, and always gives his real opinion.

Tune in to Kiki as he describes his daily adventures.

Kiki's Trip to the Arenal Volcano

Kiki goes to the Arenal Volcano

Kiki Recently took a Road Trip to the Volcano at Arenal.

As you can see by the photos he had a hoot.

Kiki Gets A Girl Friend!

I was making my daily family trek to see the sunset with Kiki our parrot and not 20 feet outside our door was another adoring human female Kiki fan. She really went google for Kiki. He was really surprised at the showering of love and the attention he got. She petted him in ways and place where I would have gotten my finger bitten off! You see Kiki is a male who likes women.

So Proud!

Kiki was selected as one of the top 5 pets in Costa Rica by the Al Dia Newspaper. When we showed him the article he was happy, but surprised a cat won first place! Never-the-less, he had a good day dancing, doing acrobats, singing, and whistling at women.

What a Beautiful Sunset!

tamarindo beach sunsetThis evening Kiki witnessed a great sunset and met many tourists on the beach in Langosta. As usual, many people took his picture and he flirted with the women. He likes all women better than men, and especially likes the ones that wear shiny jewelry. As usual, the sunset was stunning and Kiki bobbed his head up and down with approval.
